The demonstration is organized by pastor Silas Malafaia and will have the theme 'Justice Now'.
The demonstration called by former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for this Sunday, 29, on Avenida Paulista in São Paulo, will feature the presence of governors Tarcísio de Freitas (São Paulo), Romeu Zema (Minas Gerais), and Jorginho Melo (Santa Catarina).
The demonstration is organized by pastor Silas Malafaia and will have the theme 'Justice Now'. According to the religious leader, the protest will be a reaction to Bolsonaro's trial in the Supreme Federal Court (STF), where the former president is accused of leading an attempt at a coup d'état in 2022.
In addition to the governors, the presence of other prominent politicians from bolsonarism is expected, such as federal deputies Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG), Gustavo Gayer (PL-GO), and Sóstenes Cavalcante (PL-RJ), as well as senators Magno Malta (PL-ES), Jorge Seif (PL-SC), and Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ).
On the side of absences, although they have stood on the stage alongside Bolsonaro on other occasions, governors Cláudio Castro (Rio de Janeiro), Ronaldo Caiado (Goiás), and Ratinho Junior (Paraná) are not expected to participate in this Sunday’s event. The mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), also has not confirmed his attendance at the demonstration.
As in other occasions, at this Sunday’s event, each speaker will address a different topic. In addition to the STF agenda, it is expected that those who speak will also target the federal government, focusing on the increase in the Tax on Financial Operations (IOF), which was overturned by Congress on Wednesday, 25, and on the frauds at the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).
