CSO of the Human Rights Foundation Alex Gladstein spoke at the summit organized by the Bitcoin Policy Institute.

He discussed how Bitcoin helps fight dictatorship and what real benefits it provides.

Bitcoin has proven its effectiveness as a tool against authoritarian regimes, as it is not subject to their control. This thesis was presented during CFO Alex Gladstein's speech at the summit organized by the Bitcoin Policy Institute in Washington.

"We face resistance in the media, from politicians, and various experts who claim that Bitcoin has no value and utility. They don't understand how people use money here in the U.S. and in Europe — it's not the same as in other countries," Gladstein noted.

He compared such a position to an "ostrich burying its head in the sand." Gladstein believes that this attitude towards the first cryptocurrency is due to the "financial privilege" that people in developed countries possess, which is expressed in certain guarantees and rights.
