The projects of meme creator Pepe were hacked by North Korean hackers

Several cryptocurrency projects associated with Pepe the Frog creator Matt Fury were hacked for a total of over $1 million. This was reported by on-chain detective ZachXBT.

The attackers withdrew about $310,000 from the collections Replicandy, Peplicator, Hedz, and Zogz, created by Fury's team on the ChainSaw platform. Over $680,000 was stolen from the Favrr project.

The hackers gained access to smart contracts, lifted restrictions on token issuance, and reminted NFTs, which they then sold, effectively nullifying the price.

According to ZachXBT, the attacks are linked to developers from North Korea, hired through freelance resources. The detective has recorded regular payments to such "employees" from third-party crypto projects and plans to publish statistics.$PEPE
