Financial Advisor Ric Edelman: Cryptocurrency Allocation Should Be Up to 40%

Four years ago, financial advisor Ric Edelman only recommended that investors allocate 1% to crypto assets. However, this week, he stated that financial advisors should recommend clients invest 10% to 40% in cryptocurrencies. He pointed out that this is due to significant changes in the industry over the past four years, such as technological maturity, clearer policies, and widespread adoption by institutional investors.

The record inflow of funds into Bitcoin ETFs proves that crypto assets have entered the mainstream. At the same time, the traditional 60/40 investment model is gradually becoming ineffective due to the extension of human lifespan. Edelman emphasized that Bitcoin's price has low correlation with traditional assets, making it an ideal choice for optimizing portfolios. He also noted that many analysts predict Bitcoin will reach $150,000 to $250,000 this year and rise to $500,000 within this decade.

Additionally, crypto attacks in the first half of 2025 caused losses exceeding $2.1 billion; the U.S. government is pushing to allow cryptocurrencies to be included as mortgage assets and plans to complete market regulatory legislation by the end of September.
