#walletconnect

WalletConnect is an open-source protocol used to create a secure connection between blockchain applications and digital wallets. It is designed to facilitate interaction between decentralized applications and wallets without the need to share private keys, making it more secure and easier to use.

How WalletConnect Works

WalletConnect relies on QR code technology or deep links to create an encrypted connection session between the wallet and the application. Here are the basic steps:

1. Scan the QR code or open the link

- When you want to connect your wallet through one of the DeFi or NFT applications, the application displays a QR code.

- You open your wallet, such as Trust Wallet or MetaMask, and scan this code via the WalletConnect feature.

2. Establish an encrypted connection

- A secure connection channel is created online using end-to-end encryption.

- Private keys or sensitive data are not stored on servers, ensuring security.

3. Approve the connection

- A connection request appears in your wallet, and you must manually approve it.

- After approval, the application can interact with your wallet, such as making transactions or reading the balance.

4. Close the session when finished

- You can disconnect at any time through the wallet or the application.
