CZ: Is 0.1 Bitcoin More Valuable Than a House? Let's Do the Math
A viral quote attributed to Binance founder CZ states that "The American dream of the future is to own 0.1 BTC," instead of a house. However, it should be noted that this quote is unverified and appears to only circulate on social media.
Nevertheless, let's test this bold claim with numbers.
As of now (June 2025), the average (median) price of a house in the United States is around $422,800. Meanwhile, with the price of one Bitcoin at around $107,000, the value of 0.1 BTC is only about $10,700.
This means that the value of a house in the US is currently nearly 40 times more expensive than 0.1 BTC.
For this claim to become reality, the price of one Bitcoin would have to skyrocket to over $4.2 million. This figure far exceeds the most optimistic predictions from many financial analysts.
Although some of the most vocal crypto advocates predict million-dollar valuations in the future, this scenario remains highly speculative. On the other hand, the housing market is projected to grow much more slowly.
In conclusion: The idea that 0.1 BTC will be more valuable than a house is still a very bold speculation and far from current reality. An extraordinary surge in Bitcoin's value would be required for that to happen.
