What is the JUV token? — Juventus' 'Fan Membership Card'
In simple terms, buying JUV tokens is like getting a premium digital membership card on Juventus' blockchain fan platform (called Socios).
What is this 'card' useful for?
Voting (Governance): The club occasionally makes minor decisions on the Socios App, such as 'which sleeve pattern looks good on the new jersey' or 'which fan song to choose'. Holding JUV tokens allows you to cast a vote, which is said to mean 'fans have a say' (don’t expect to decide which star player to buy).
Getting some rewards: By frequently opening Socios, engaging in activities, liking posts, or guessing scores, you have a chance to earn some rewards (which could be small gifts, discount coupons, or other fan tokens).
Betting for profile picture change (Future feature): The official word is that in the future you can 'lock' your JUV tokens on the platform for a period (staking), which could earn you club-exclusive player cards, commemorative posters, and other digital collectibles (NFTs). This feature is still in the 'promised stage'.
Who supports it?
The entire Socios fan platform is run by the blockchain company Chiliz. The JUV token itself runs on the Chiliz chain (which is a smaller brother of Ethereum, faster and cheaper).
