Argentinian media have stirred a new wave of speculation surrounding the cryptocurrency scandal involving Libra. At the center of attention is a flash drive seized from crypto trader Mauricio Novelli, who is under investigation for his role in launching the Libra token. According to reports, this device may have contained a video allegedly linking Argentinian President Javier Milei to the promotion of the token—footage that might have been deleted before authorities got their hands on it.
❌ Suspicious Deletion: What Was on the Flash Drive?
Local sources claim that Novelli deleted dozens of files from the device shortly before it was confiscated. While some of the deleted folder names appear to reference movies or series, cybersecurity experts suggest they may have been used to disguise more sensitive content.
The head of the Ministry of Information Technology’s technical analysis lab stated in a report to prosecutors that if the deleted files could contain relevant evidence, a forensic process known as "data carving" should be carried out to attempt to recover the missing folders and files.
🎥 The Mysterious Milei–Libra Video: Rumor or Reality?
The situation gained even more intrigue after Hayden Davis of Kelsier Ventures claimed in previous interviews that an unreleased video exists of President Javier Milei promoting the Libra project.
A local media source noted:
"If Davis is telling the truth, where is the video? Who has it? Could it be one of the deleted files? We don’t know—but it needs to be verified."
Although Argentina’s Anti-Corruption Office (AO) officially cleared President Milei of any ethical wrongdoing related to the Libra case, investigations are still ongoing in both U.S. and Argentinian courts. These focus on the development and promotion of the Libra token and individuals associated with it.
💸 Circle Freezes Millions
Adding to the drama, Circle recently froze nearly $57 million held in wallets connected to Libra, following a request from Argentine authorities. Investigators are currently reviewing communications between parties allegedly involved in launching the token.
