XRP Ledger has experienced a series of improvements in recent weeks, but a new software update is introducing radical changes to the network. The XRPL software update 2.5.0 is already available, and the official release notes on GitHub confirm significant fixes and enhancements.

First, the update incorporates batch transactions into XRPL, a highly anticipated feature by the community. The introduction of this functionality opens up new institutional use cases, facilitating mass payments and token distribution for business users.

Additionally, the software update incorporates token deposits to XRPL for RLUSD and other assets on the network. Combined with batch management, token deposits offer an efficient system for allocation and payment, while allowing dApps to manage user deposits efficiently.

Other features include permissioned DEX and delegation capabilities. The update also includes various bug fixes affecting RPC responses for temporary codes and NFT interactions with trust lines.

In May, RippleX senior software engineer, Mayukha Vadari, revealed that the 2.5.0 software update will challenge Ethereum and Solana.

XRPL records a series of positive metrics amid the excitement for a new software update. Prior to the update, daily addresses multiplied sevenfold, while whale wallets on the XRP Ledger set a new record.

After the update, XRP has gained nearly 6%, recovering the losses suffered during the cryptocurrency market crash on Sunday.
