Having been in the crypto space for a long time, it’s not really about how great your technology is, but rather whether you’ve made mistakes and whether you can survive.
Many people didn’t miss the bull market, but rather fell due to basic errors.
To be honest, I increasingly feel that:
The dumbest way to trade crypto is often the most reliable.
But it’s slow, it’s boring, and most people can’t stick to it.
Many people around me have fallen into these three "old habits":
1️⃣ FOMO and panic selling: as soon as they see a rise, they rush in, thinking it will keep soaring, and end up buying at the peak. When it drops, they panic and sell at the bottom. The ones who really make money are those who can buy quietly during dull periods and sell discreetly when the hype comes.
2️⃣ Heavy betting on direction: the direction is right, but when volatility hits, they cut losses and get washed out. It’s not that they judged wrong, but that they couldn’t hold on.
3️⃣ Emotional all-in: seeing an opportunity and going all in, but later they can’t adjust. Even if the direction is right, without funds to average down or adjust positions, they can only watch helplessly.
Ultimately, in this market,
What destroys you is not the market itself, but your habits.
I’ve also summarized a short-term "six-character mantra" from my own experiences after stepping on these pits——
Don’t chase sideways, don’t pursue the range: if the high-level consolidation hasn’t ended, there’s still upward space; if the low-level oscillation isn’t done, it’s likely to continue breaking down.
Don’t exit during oscillations: when the market is quiet, it’s the easiest to wear people down.
Buy on red, sell on green: following emotions is better than guessing based on feelings.
Don’t catch slow drops, touch rapid drops: if the rhythm is wrong, the opportunity changes too.
Pyramid building: going all in is all emotion; a truly stable position is built up slowly.
After large fluctuations, there must be oscillations, and only after oscillations can there be opportunities. Don’t place bets during peaks or panic; wait for signals to emerge.
This market has never lacked opportunities,
What’s missing are: people who can wait, endure, and understand.
