A major news site in the crypto industry becomes the latest target

The Cointelegraph site – one of the well-known news sites for cryptocurrency – has just confirmed being hit by a front-end attack. The trick: promising token rewards, displaying fake prices, impersonating audits.

Scam pop-ups claim that selected users will receive tokens worth nearly $5,500, according to a "fair launch campaign" by Cointelegraph.

They also impersonated information from the auditing firm CertiK to increase credibility. This behavior is similar to the wallet connection and identity verification trick that was used in the CoinMarketCap attack.

DON'T rush to connect your wallet without thorough checking.
