BlockBeats news, on June 23, according to Reuters, the public trial operation of Tesla's Robotaxi began yesterday in the South Congress Avenue area of Austin, Texas, USA. Initially, 10 Model Y vehicles were deployed, with the driver's seat remaining vacant but equipped with a remote safety operator in the background. Although the safety operator does not have traditional driving controls, they can intervene with necessary measures such as an emergency stop button. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with biosensors that can monitor passengers for sudden health issues in real-time and automatically raise an alarm. This trial operation is limited to invited users and the service area is strictly restricted, with a uniform one-way fare of $4.20.

The Robotaxi being tested employs a pure vision solution, relying solely on an 8-camera system. Musk stated on X, "The pure vision solution costs less than a third of the competition. This is the result of ten years of hard work, and the AI chip and software team are entirely built by Tesla." It is reported that the autonomous driving business accounts for over 60% of Tesla's trillion-dollar market valuation.
