Carrier strike groups:
— USS Carl Vinson: This aircraft carrier is already in the Arabian Sea with four destroyers of its strike group. It is not directly involved in the defense of Israel but provides security for U.S. forces and bases in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.
USS Nimitz: The aircraft carrier, previously in the South China Sea, has been redirected to the Middle East. It is accompanied by four
destroyers of the Arleigh Burke class and likely one submarine. It is expected to arrive in the region by the end of June.
— USS Gerald R. Ford: This aircraft carrier is scheduled to be deployed to the area of responsibility of the 6th Fleet (Europe and Africa) next week, bringing the third carrier group closer to the conflict zone. The group includes the destroyers USS Winston Churchill, USS Mitscher, USS Mahan, USS Bainbridge, and USS Forrest Sherman, as well as an air wing with nine squadrons, including four F-18 squadrons and one EA-18G Growler squadron.
