Translation for the new update on the application interface and dedicated to discussing what has been achieved after 100 days since the launch of the open network for the Pi network.
👇
Pioneers, it has now been more than 100 days since the launch of the Open Network! The launch of the Open Network was the culmination of more than six years of building the infrastructure and ecosystem of the Pi Network, ensuring that its utility was ready for use at launch.
Opening external connectivity for the Open Network allows for a thriving ecosystem of Pi and innovative applications, integrating into the broader blockchain world. This also enabled businesses to integrate with Pi after passing the KYB verification process.
The Open Network has been central to Pi's mission: to create a comprehensive, utility-driven cryptocurrency that is widely adopted and accessible to anyone. Pioneers around the world - crypto enthusiasts, everyday mainstream people, and everyone in between - are the driving force behind Pi as Pi is poised to solve the problem of mass adoption and utility in the real world.
In the first 100 days of the Open Network, the ecosystem and utilities of Pi continued to benefit pioneers and expand. Let's take a look at the network's progress and growth, including key updates in the utility space.
Pi Network Ventures:
Investing $100 million in companies
Innovative emerging
The Pi Foundation launched the Pi Network Ventures initiative, a $100 million developmental initiative, managed with Pi and US dollars, aimed at strategic investment in startups and companies, including those that enhance the utility of Pi and its adoption and impact in the real world.
Its three main goals are to enhance the utility of Pi, enable more of the world's production through the Pi Network, and bring Pi to the real world.
By investing in startups and companies, Pi aims to empower developers, many of whom are building, integrating, and innovating with Pi to achieve real utility. Pi Network Ventures seeks innovators focused on globally available, community-driven, and economically viable projects.
Games are a key sector that Pi Network Ventures will focus on in its investments. Games sit at the intersection of many key strengths - social interactions, attention economy, and virtual goods - and Pi Network Ventures is uniquely positioned to leverage Pi Network to help game developers achieve their goals, which in turn benefits the Pi ecosystem.
To this end, Pi Network launched FruityPi, a fun fruit-matching game that also demonstrates the utility of current games for Pi in action. By integrating with various Pi products and tools - such as Pi Ad Network, Pi Wallet, and Pi Payments - Pi Network used FruityPi as an early signal of how games, with their embedded social dynamics and virtual economies, can drive both app-level engagement and the utility of the broader ecosystem at the same time.
PiFest and expanding local commerce with Pi
Pi Day 2025 marked the beginning of the first PiFest after the Open Network, a week-long event from March 14 to 21, 2025. With the external connectivity of the Open Network enabled, PiFest supported integrated commerce with Pi, providing greater opportunities for merchant adoption and engagement from pioneers, including through seamless transactions on the Pi Mainnet blockchain and through related Pi products. PiFest saw participation from:
More than 125,000 registered vendors - including 58,000 active vendors;
Usage of the community-created Map of Pi application by more than 1.8 million pioneers; and
More than 45,000 reviews submitted by pioneers.
The success of PiFest shows that pioneers and businesses are engaged in the Pi Network and eager to transact via Pi. This enhances the achievement of the long-term vision of the Pi Network to build an inclusive peer-to-peer ecosystem, supported by Pi, which will continue to expand.
.pi domain auction: A new platform-level tool
Pi Day 2025 also introduced the .pi domain auction, a platform-level tool that harnesses the collective resources of the Pi community - from interest, authenticity, and a large community ready for transactions - and the external connectivity of the Open Network to further expand Pi's role in real-world commerce and digital interactions.
.pi domains allow individuals, applications, and companies to bid on and own unique digital identifiers within the Pi ecosystem. .pi domains already have clear, immediate, and measurable real-world use cases, as well as practical applications now, setting .pi domains apart from other virtual properties/holdings in less developed ecosystems.
So far, the .pi domain auction has received the following:
More than 123,000 active bids
More than 57,000 unique bidders
More than 69,000 domains with active bids
Active bids totaling more than 3 million Pi during the auction
Ecosystem interface updates
The ecosystem interface lists the eligible main network applications that pioneers can use. This continues Pi's mission to empower pioneers and developers by providing access to applications and tools, while offering developers more opportunities to showcase their applications. During the first 100 days of the Open Network, Pi Network made several updates to the ecosystem interface. These updates included:

During the first 100 days of the Open Network, Pi Network made several updates to the ecosystem interface. These updates included:
Expanding the main network application ecosystem: Developers who meet the requirements for deploying main network applications can now apply to add their applications to the main network ecosystem interface directly through the developer portal without having to wait for them to be whitelisted.
Enhanced design of the ecosystem interface: The design of the ecosystem interface has been updated to enhance easy navigation for community applications for pioneers through a clearer design and improved user experience.
Expanding the Pi Ad Network application to include Pi applications: Pi app developers can now apply to join the Pi Ad Network. Those selected will join the first batch of Pi applications from the pilot program - and are now generating and receiving ad revenue through this program.
New applications joining the main network ecosystem interface: New Pi applications have been added to the main network ecosystem interface since the launch of the Open Network, indicating continued support from the community and users and developers for the Pi Network, and the ongoing growth of applications across the Pi ecosystem in the first 100 days since the launch of the Open Network.
Network metrics
Here are some current key metrics that show the growth and scale of the network:
More than 3 million additional pioneers have been transferred to the main network since the launch of the Open Network, bringing the total number of main network users to over 13 million.
More than 7.4 billion Pi transferred: 5.2 billion Pi locked and 2.20 billion Pi open.
There are more than 400,000 active nodes across the Pi blockchain (Testnet1, Testnet2, and Mainnet).
Pioneers can check the Pi Blockexplorer for updated metrics and read more about the Pi token and supplies here.
Account security, mainnet transfer, and mainnet wallet activation
Since the launch of the Open Network, Pi has continued to support entrepreneurs through updates for account security and mainnet transfer, expanding access to the mainnet through wallet activation.
Full phone number change for verified pioneers (KYC): Entrepreneurs who have passed KYC testing can now update their full phone number after completing the data vitality verification test.
Two-factor authentication (2FA) for the Pi wallet transfer to help secure Pi accounts: Pioneers must complete two-factor authentication to secure their Pi wallets and confirm their transfer. For those pioneers affected by this requirement, it must be completed before their Pi wallet is successfully transferred to the main network blockchain.
Transitioning to email-based two-factor authentication: This security measure enables easier, more secure, and less costly verification through reliable emails. Email-based two-factor authentication is not subject to the restrictions of SMS verification (i.e., geographic restrictions due to communication constraints, telecommunications company policies, individual service subscriptions, costs, etc.).
Expanding access to the Pi Mainnet ecosystem through new wallet activation opportunities: The Mainnet wallet activation feature allows verified pioneers, including those fully verified, as well as most those temporarily verified, and users who have not yet joined the Pi network, to activate their wallets on the Pi Mainnet blockchain. This opens the door for their participation in the Pi Mainnet ecosystem and expands their inclusion in it.
The new account recovery option is now available: A new password reset pathway has been introduced. This is available for pioneers who created a reliable email for their accounts. If they have one, they can request a password reset, and they will receive a password reset link at the reliable email address, in addition to the current recovery methods already available for pioneers.
KYC Updates: The Pi Network has also resolved several issues that may have hindered some pioneers from advancing in the KYC process. These issues included identifying and addressing some minor errors in the process, updates to enable Yoti users to complete the entire process, and addressing issues related to missing data.
Summary
The Pi ecosystem in the Open Network features initiatives for applications and tools, real-world and practical use cases, and community engagement. During the first hundred days of the Open Network, pioneers demonstrated that the Pi digital currency, based on utility and widely adopted, will stay and grow. Pioneers, developers, and companies should continue to engage and innovate on Pi, pushing the network to continue its achievements that benefit the entire ecosystem.
