Old" Bitcoin Outpaces New Supply: A Path to a Million?

The amount of "old" Bitcoin—coins that haven't moved in ten years or more—is growing faster than the issuance of new coins. This, combined with an increase in institutional investment, suggests that the path for Bitcoin to reach a million dollars is starting to become clearer.

A report from Fidelity Digital Assets highlights this crucial shift in Bitcoin's supply dynamics, especially after the 2024 halving. Currently, around 550 BTC enter the "old" category daily, while only 450 new BTC are issued. This means that long-term investors are accumulating Bitcoin faster than miners can produce it, intensifying the cryptocurrency's scarcity in the market.
