Tether's CEO, Paolo Ardoino, announced the development of PearPass — a fully local open-source password manager. After a massive leak of 16 billion logins and passwords related to major services, he stated that cloud services are no longer reliable and it's time to move away from them. PearPass will ensure that all data, including passwords and encryption keys, is stored exclusively on the user's device, eliminating dependence on the cloud. Ardoino emphasized the importance of local solutions, especially in emergency situations, such as a potential third world war. In the near future, Tether also plans to release Mining OS — a modular operating system for mining that will allow users to customize system components themselves. These steps demonstrate Tether's commitment to enhancing the security and reliability of its technologies, with a focus on locality and open source.
