HOPE IS STRONGER THAN FEAR
And this is exactly the reason why you can't close a deal at a stop and turn it into a disaster. The most disturbing part of this story is that sometimes such clueless traders manage to close a position that was in a huge loss and end up in profit. After a few such instances, you experience a positive reinforcement of destructive behavior: "If I move the stop a little lower and endure a bit, the price might turn around and go in the right direction." It is hope that turns a novice into a hopeless gambler, draining deposit after deposit.
You can only fight this in one way – by creating a positive reinforcement of the negative scenario in your mind. That is, instead of the mindset: 'I made money – I'm great,' you need to reinforce the mindset 'I closed the deal at a systematic stop – I'm great.' This is done by opening, for example, 10 completely random trades without any basis, setting a short stop-loss, and waiting for it to trigger. That is, all 10 trades should be closed at the stop-loss according to your risk management outlined in the trading system. $SOL
