BIT AS A GENERAL THEME !!!

🧠 How does Bitcoin work?

Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency that allows sending and receiving value without intermediaries like banks. Transactions are recorded in a public database called the blockchain, which acts as an immutable ledger. Every time someone sends bitcoins, that operation is verified by thousands of computers (nodes) around the world.

🔐 Security and scarcity

- Security: Transactions are protected by advanced cryptography. Once confirmed, they cannot be modified.

- Limited supply: There will only be 21 million bitcoins. This programmed scarcity is one of the reasons why many consider it “digital gold.”

⛏️ How are they created?

Through a process called mining, where computers solve complex mathematical problems to validate transactions. As a reward, they receive new bitcoins. But every four years, an event called halving occurs, which halves the reward, making each bitcoin harder to obtain.

💡 Curiosities

- The first payment with Bitcoin was to buy two pizzas in 2010 for 10,000 BTC. Today they would be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

- Its creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, remains a mystery. No one knows who he really is
