#XSuperApp X will become a super app with the launch of X Money, a digital wallet that will allow users to make payments, transfers, and more.
Elon Musk has taken another step in his ambitious transformation of X, the social network formerly known as Twitter, by announcing the launch of X Money, an integrated digital wallet that will enable users to make payments, transfers, investments, and even send tips to creators within the platform.
During an interview at the Cannes Lions advertising festival, X CEO Linda Yaccarino explained that the app is on track to become a true 'financial hub', in line with Musk's vision of creating a super app for everything in the style of WeChat in China.
What will X Money offer?
Among the planned features of X Money are payments between users, bank transfers, in-app purchases, and investment services. There is also the integration of cryptocurrencies and the ability to send tips to content creators.
Additionally, X plans to launch a credit or debit card — in collaboration with Visa as the first confirmed partner — which could be available as early as this year.
