#XSuperApp This year, X is set to launch its super financial app X Money, with great promises at stake. As the CEO of the social network revisited the imminent approach of this novelty, here’s what you need to know.

X's super financial app is approaching rapidly.

On the occasion of the Cannes Lions, the international creativity festival in Cannes, Linda Yaccarino, the CEO of X, gave an interview to the Financial Times regarding the future of X. Thus, she reports a financial super application planned for 'soon':

You will be able to come to X and manage all your financial operations on the platform. Whether I can pay you for the pizza we shared last night or make an investment or a transaction. So that's the future. […] A whole commercial ecosystem and a financial ecosystem, which do not exist today, will emerge on the platform.

It should be noted that the idea of transforming X into a super app is not new, as such projects have already been shared by Elon Musk several times.

In October 2023, he announced this future for the end of 2024, echoing his original company X.com, which merged with Coinfinity in 2000 to give birth to PayPal:

When I talk about payments, I am actually talking about someone's entire financial life. If it's about money. It will be on our platform.

As often with such vast projects, the realization of the project proves to be longer than expected, but last January, a partnership was concluded with Visa for the launch of X Money. Even at that time, Linda Yaccarino announced that the arrival of X Money was expected for 'later this year'.

Of course, the road may still be long before X Money rolls out all the promised features. Initially, the application will only be available in the United States, to facilitate the payment for certain purchases, to retain value, and to send tips to content creators on X.

Still with a financial dimension, it should be noted that earlier this month, X and PolyMarket unveiled a partnership aimed at integrating predictive markets on the platform. Regardless of how long these projects take before implementation, they show that the future of X does not seem limited to a simple social network application.
