In the context of the rapidly growing cryptocurrency space, the demand for a transparent, secure token issuance platform that does not rely on intermediaries is becoming increasingly urgent.
Gavel – an initiative from Ellipsis Labs, born to thoroughly address the shortcomings of traditional token distribution models. With a fully on-chain architecture on the Solana ecosystem, Gavel offers a modern, bot-resistant, decentralized, and efficient method of distribution and liquidity initiation.
This article will take you to explore in detail how Gavel operates, the highlights of the Sandwich Attack-resistant AMM technology, the liquidity withdrawal mechanism, and why this platform can reshape how projects raise funds in the Web3 era.
What is Gavel?
Gavel is a fully on-chain platform on the Solana ecosystem, specialized in token distribution and liquidity initiation.
Instead of relying on centralized exchanges or market makers, Gavel provides a transparent, efficient, and fair solution for projects to raise funds and distribute tokens independently.
Why is Gavel a breakthrough?
Typically, token issuance teams must choose between:
High fees and dependence on centralized exchanges, making it easy to manipulate liquidity.
On-chain releases are easily attacked by bots (snipers, frontrunners).
Gavel thoroughly addresses these two concerns with a bot-resistant mechanism and specialized AMM, helping to maintain a fair fundraising process and protect users.
Highlights of Gavel
AMM against Sandwich Attack and Sniping: helps limit price manipulation in AMM transactions.
Fair token distribution: supports Dutch auctions or fixed FCFS distribution.
100% On-Chain: all processes occur automatically, requiring no permission or manual intervention.
Transparency & auditability: from the distribution stage to liquidity transactions.
No initial distribution fees: only 0.30% (30 basis points) is charged on each transaction through AMM.
Transient Liquidity: minimizes long-term capital lock-up, providing optimal performance.
Operates automatically through Smart Contracts—using a Permissionless Crank mechanism, anyone can activate the process.
How Gavel works
Initiate & distribute tokens
The issuing team sets the number of tokens, chooses the distribution mechanism (e.g., Dutch auction or fixed FCFS price).
During a period (usually 24 hours), users send SOL to the smart contract. At the end of the sale, tokens are distributed fairly according to the contribution ratio of SOL.
Setup AMM against Sandwich Attack
After distribution, the remaining tokens (e.g., 300 million $IBRL) are put into AMM along with 3/7 of the collected SOL.
Opening price on AMM is fixed by the final price of the distribution period, limiting opportunities for arbitrage or sniping.
Transient Liquidity
AMM does not hold fixed liquidity. After 7 days of transaction initiation, liquidity is gradually withdrawn according to a schedule: every 2,000 slots (~13 minutes), withdraw 0.01%, repeating up to 20,000 times.
Withdrawn SOL will be used to buy and then burn tokens.
Use the remaining SOL portion
4/7 of the remaining SOL will be used to buy tokens according to a schedule of every 1,000 slots (~6.5 minutes), gradually burning tokens.
Fully automated & permissioned
All through Smart Contracts—no manual intervention. Permissionless Crank allows anyone to trigger the steps, ensuring a decentralized and transparent platform.

Team
Gavel is built by Ellipsis Labs, co-founded by Eugene Chen and Jarry Xiao. They met in high school, later reuniting to research DeFi solutions on Solana.
Their first application—Phoenix—is a limit order book (LOB) exchange that operates fully on-chain, achieving over 55 billion USD in trading volume without incentive rewards.
Following that, Ellipsis Labs is developing Atlas, a high-performance blockchain specifically for financial applications, combining the transparency of DeFi and the performance of traditional finance.
Information is being updated
Currently, some items related to the Gavel platform are still being finalized and will be updated shortly.
Development roadmap: Details of feature upgrade phases, scaling, and important timelines will soon be announced for the community to follow.
Tokenomics: Specific information about token allocation, unlocking schedules, usage mechanisms, and benefits within the Gavel ecosystem is being finalized.
The community can follow Gavel's official media channels to stay updated on the latest news.

Conclusion
Gavel is a comprehensive platform supporting token issuance and liquidity initiation on Solana with:
High fairness due to auctions or fixed distributions.
Special AMM against bots and sandwich attacks.
Fully automated, transparent, and on-chain—thoroughly addressing issues such as reliance on centralized exchanges, bot attacks, and high intermediary costs.
With an innovative mechanism and an experienced team, Gavel aims to become the new standard for token issuance and on-chain liquidity management.
