Toncoin Slightly Rises as Pavel Durov is Allowed to Leave France

Telegram founder Pavel Durov has again been granted permission by French authorities to make a short trip to Dubai, UAE starting July 10. This permit is given amid an investigation into allegations that Telegram has allowed illegal content to circulate on its platform.

This decision has drawn attention as Telegram is currently one of the applications most closely associated with the crypto world, including a mini app ecosystem based on blockchain and digital tokens.

One token closely related to Telegram, Toncoin (TON), showed a slight price increase of 0.25% in the last 24 hours, reaching US$2.96 on Friday (20/06).

Durov had previously been allowed to travel to Dubai last April, but remains banned from entering the United States. He is also required to post a bail of 5 million euros or approximately US$5.7 million and report to French authorities twice a week.

Since his arrest last year, Telegram has implemented a number of security system updates. Now, users disseminating prohibited content can be blocked, and their information, such as IP and phone numbers, can be reported to the authorities.

The crypto community continues to monitor the developments of this case as it is deemed to have a direct impact on the future of Toncoin and the crypto ecosystem on Telegram.
