NEW YORK, Dec 18 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said on Wednesday that the U.S. central bank has no desire to engage in any government effort to accumulate large amounts of bitcoin.
"We are not allowed to hold bitcoin," Powell said at a press conference following the Fed's latest two-day monetary policy meeting, where policymakers lowered rates as expected and signaled a less certain path for monetary policy in the coming months.
