🔐 16 billion login credentials leaked – the largest leak in history that few have noticed
Cybernews has just warned: since the beginning of the year, there have been 30 data sets released, each containing tens of millions to billions of records – a total of 16 billion login details leaked, affecting a multitude of major platforms such as Apple, Google, Facebook, Telegram...
Notably, the majority of the data has never been leaked before, including login tokens, cookies, and metadata, making it easy for hackers to gain access – particularly dangerous for those who have not enabled two-factor authentication (2FA).
🧠 Advice from Cybernews:
Since it is unclear where the leaked data originated, users find it difficult to take direct action to protect the exposed data. However, the following basic steps are still extremely important:
Change passwords regularly, avoid reusing passwords across multiple platforms
Use 2FA on all important services
Regularly check devices for malware detection and removal...
Especially for crypto users, absolutely do not store passphrases on social media sites. I just checked my email to see if it was leaked, thankfully it was clear 😁
