China has just completed the world's widest underwater road in just 110 days! Using a giant 17-metre tunnel boring machine called the "Shanhe", engineers have built an enormous underwater tunnel beneath the Yellow River at Jinan.
At 55.8 feet wide, the tunnel will carry 6 lanes of traffic and set a new world record for shield tunnel construction. Over 3 km of underwater tunnel was completed at lightning speed, averaging 16-18 meters per day.
