The countdown for altcoins has already begun.
Once the beautiful country's stock market is fully tokenized, compliant stocks will be tradable and listed on the blockchain, those altcoins that rely on hype and storytelling will basically have to pack up and leave.
COIN is doing this, turning on-chain securities into the mainstream. Many recently IPO'd stocks have a market value of only tens of millions or a few hundred million, which for retail investors is not much different from small-cap coins—at least they are regulated, compliant, and have real business operations.
