$USDC USD Coin (USDC) is a stablecoin pegged to the value of the US dollar, meaning 1 USDC is worth 1 USD. It is issued by Circle, a blockchain startup backed by Coinbase and Bitmain. The USDC token is designed to provide a secure, efficient, and transparent way to pay for global transactions. Circle, the issuer of the stablecoin USDC, had a successful initial public offering (IPO) on Thursday, with its shares soaring 300% from around $31 to around $90. The milestone represents a shift in public perception of the cryptocurrency industry. Lorenzo Valente and Raye Hadi, members of the Digital Assets Team at ARK Invest, said that Circle’s successful IPO could spur more companies in the crypto space to consider going public, further highlighting the sector’s role as a global financial infrastructure innovator.
