After my article on mistakes to avoid as a beginner, I received comments with questions like: How to make a crypto deposit on Binance? So I decided to write this article to guide you step by step.
Sending crypto (or fiat currency) to Binance is an essential step to start trading, investing, or exploring the world of Web3. Whether you are new to the ecosystem or already using another platform like Coinbase, this guide explains how to transfer your funds securely to Binance, step by step.

A wide choice of cryptocurrencies and trading pairs
Innovative products like staking, Futures, Launchpools, and the Web3 Wallet

A secure Internet connection
The compatible network for the crypto to be transferred (e.g., Ethereum or BNB Chain)
How to send crypto from Coinbase to Binance
I am taking the example of Coinbase, but you should know that regardless of the platform, the process is generally the same.
Here are the steps to transfer your crypto (e.g., USDC or BTC) from Coinbase to Binance:
Step 1: Retrieve the Binance deposit address
Open your Binance app and click on the Deposit button on the homepage
You choose the method by which you want to receive crypto. If you do not have any crypto assets on another platform, you can buy them through P2P Trading or purchase with Fiat (direct purchase) or Receive via Pay (from another Binance user you know). If you want to receive crypto from another platform like Coinbase, you will choose Crypto Deposit
Choose the crypto you want to receive (e.g., USDC)
You will see the available networks for depositing USDC on Binance. Please make your choice carefully and make sure that the selected network is the same as the network of the platform from which you are withdrawing funds. If you select the wrong network, your funds may be lost and unrecoverable.
You will see a QR code and the deposit address of the network you have chosen. Tap the Copy icon to copy the deposit address, then paste it in the address field of the platform from which you wish to withdraw crypto. You can also tap [Save and share the address] to save the QR code and import it directly to the withdrawal platform.
Reminder: Make sure that the chosen network is the same as the one you will use on Coinbase.
Step 2: Send from Coinbase
Log in to your Coinbase account
Go to My Assets > Transfer > Send cryptocurrencies
Paste the Binance address you copied and then select it
Choose the crypto to send
Select the network
Enter the amount > Preview
Choose the Exchange platform option
Check Send to myself (if it is indeed your Coinbase account) > Continue > Continue > Send now
â A confirmation will appear. The transfer may take a few minutes depending on the chosen network.
How to deposit fiat currency (USD, EURâŠ) on Binance
If you wish to deposit funds directly in local currency:
Open your Binance app and go to your Spot or Funding wallet and then click on the search icon
Search and choose the currency of your choice (e.g., EUR)
If you have crypto on your Binance account, you can choose to convert it to EUR, but you must ensure that you have a cryptocurrency among those accepted for the trading pairs available for EUR. In this case, you choose Convert to EUR and then follow the on-screen instructions. Otherwise, you click on Add EUR
You will then be redirected to a page where you will choose your preferred payment method from those available and then click Continue
Enter the amount and then click Pay now
Then follow the instructions displayed on the screen
đ Processing times may vary depending on the chosen method.
Security tips not to be neglected
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Binance and Coinbase accounts.
Verify the accuracy of the address before confirming the send.
Do a test with a small amount to avoid mistakes.
Avoid transfers via unsupported networks.
