Hackers hacked the Iranian cryptocurrency exchange Nobitex for over $80 million
On June 18, the Nobitex team confirmed that unknown individuals gained unauthorized access to part of the cryptocurrency exchange's infrastructure and its hot wallet. According to representatives of the platform, user funds stored in cold wallets are safe.
"Nobitex takes full responsibility for the incident and guarantees that all losses will be fully compensated from the insurance fund and the exchange's own resources," the official statement from Nobitex said.
All functions of the website and the cryptocurrency exchange application are temporarily unavailable. The platform is conducting an internal investigation into the incident. Representatives of Nobitex did not disclose the amount of damage. However, ZachXBT believes that the hackers managed to withdraw about $81 million. All these funds were transferred by the attackers to unknown addresses on the Tron (TRX) network.
