Decentralized cloud computing provider io.net and its IO token, in collaboration with Walrus, offer a 'Bring Your Own Model' (BYOM) service for AI developers. This service allows startups to pay for usage while utilizing a global network of over 10,000 GPUs and CPUs for training, running, and storing custom AI models. Walrus provides decentralized storage, which enhances privacy and composability compared to traditional centralized cloud services. This collaboration aims to support the development of AI and machine learning, avoiding the drawbacks of centralized models and addressing issues exposed by recent major cloud service interruptions. Walrus's mainnet launched in March this year, having raised $140 million and currently offering 4,167 TB of storage capacity. This collaboration is expected to promote adoption among AI developers, particularly those outside the cryptocurrency sector, against the backdrop of an anticipated trillion-dollar investment needed for global AI computing demand by 2030. SoSoValue is also mentioned in this development.
