The tariffs pose a dual threat to the Fed's dual mandate to keep inflation low and employment high: not only could the import taxes push up prices, but they could hurt the economy, potentially pushing up unemployment. If inflation proves the greater threat, the Fed could keep interest rates higher for longer, or alternatively, could cut rates to rescue the economy if the job market starts to crumble .

#VietnamCryptoPolicy Vietnam has officially legalised crypto assets as part of a landmark digital technology law passed by the National Assembly on 14 June. Set to take effect on 1 January 2026, the law creates a regulatory framework classifying digital assets as virtual or crypto assets. Neither category includes securities or digital fiat currencies. The government will now develop specific business rules and oversight mechanisms while enforcing cyber security and anti-money laundering standards to meet international expectations. The new law also highlights Vietnam’s ambition to become a leader in digital technology innovation. It offers extensive incentives for enterprises in artificial intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing, and digital infrastructure.

$BTC Japanese investment firm Metaplanet’s latest 1,112 Bitcoin purchase has finally tipped its total Bitcoin holdings to 10,000 BTC, surpassing Coinbase as the seventh-largest publicly traded company with a Bitcoin treasury. On Monday, Meta planet announced that it had purchased the Bitcoin stack for 16.88 billion Japanese yen 117 million usd. The firm now holds 10,000 Bitcoin. The average price of Metaplanet’s 10,000 BTC now stands at 13.9 million Japanese yen, approximately $96,400 per Bitcoin.

On Monday, Meta planet announced that it had purchased the Bitcoin stack for 16.88 billion Japanese yen 117 million usd. The firm now holds 10,000 Bitcoin. The average price of Metaplanet’s 10,000 BTC now stands at 13.9 million Japanese yen, approximately $96,400 per Bitcoin. It comes just two weeks after Meta planet became the eighth-largest corporate holder of Bitcoin. Meta planet issues $210M bonds to buy Bitcoin It came the same day Meta planet announced that its board of directors had resolved to issue $210 million via no-interest bonds, and that it raised that figure to buy more Bitcoin. The firm has drastically revised its Bitcoin strategy in recent months and now intends to hold 210,000 BTC by the end of 2027. So far, Meta planet has completed the purchase of 10,000 BTC and will need to buy an additional 200,000 BTC over the next 18 months.
