Ripple (XRP) Lawsuit Timeline Extended as SEC Requests Delay
Ripple Labs' legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has taken another turn, as the SEC has filed a motion to extend the deadline for its next update. Originally expected to submit a status report by June 16th, the SEC is now seeking more time—until August 15, 2025. The court has not yet ruled on the request.
Although Ripple and the SEC had agreed on a proposed fine, the judge rejected the settlement, citing failure to meet specific regulatory standards. This has prolonged the case, which many believed was nearing its end.
In the midst of heightened geopolitical tensions between Israel and Iran, which have injected volatility into global markets, XRP remains resilient. The token is trading at approximately $2.24, marking a 2.4% daily gain and outperforming much of the altcoin market.
