Research Reveals Bitcoin-XRP Will Replace US Dollar by 2050
Sistine, an independent research company, has begun considering the possibility of Bitcoin (BTC) and XRP replacing the United States dollar as the global reserve currency in the future. This is due to the national debt of the United States increasing to around US$36 trillion.
According to them, Bitcoin is strong as a store of value, but its design is less suitable for use as a daily currency.
In contrast, XRP is deemed more suitable for everyday use because it is designed to be a global reserve currency with fast and efficient value transfer functions.
"Will the US dollar or any other fiat currency still be the global reserve currency in the next 25 years? If the likelihood of the answer being 'no' is greater than 20%, then it is time to start thinking about what could replace it," said Sistine via its X account.
Previously, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink and Bridgewater Founder Ray Dalio also warned that if the US fails to manage its debt, global confidence in US government bonds could collapse.
The rising national debt of the US could threaten the dollar's status as the most dominant currency. This is because organizations around the world are losing faith in national currencies and seeking independent solutions to alternative financial systems or decentralized assets like Bitcoin.
“If the US does not control its debt, if the deficit continues to swell, America risks losing its dominant position due to digital assets like Bitcoin,” Fink said.
