#FOMCMeeting Bitcoin (BTC): Quick Intro

Bitcoin is the first and most well-known cryptocurrency, launched in 2009 by an anonymous creator known as Satoshi Nakamoto. It’s a decentralized digital currency that allows peer-to-peer transactions without the need for banks.

BTC runs on blockchain technology and uses a proof-of-work system for security. It’s often called “digital gold” because of its limited supply (only 21 million will ever exist) and its role as a store of value.
