Will the TOP1 American bank jump into Crypto?
Recently, people have been discussing a lot about JPMorgan's potential deeper involvement in crypto and their preparation to launch new products in this area.
Specifically, the bank has filed a trademark application for "JPMD" with the USPTO, introducing it as a blockchain-based payment platform with a range of features:
- Trading, converting, paying, and custody of digital assets
- Brokerage and issuance of digital assets
- Crypto transfers
- Debt payments and transaction settlements via distributed ledger technology (DLT)
Some sources also indicate that JPMorgan is in discussions with Bank of America, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo to collaborate on a shared stablecoin. If successful, this group of banks will turn the stablecoin into a standard payment tool for both domestic and international transactions.
