Ethereum "Sleeping Whale" Suddenly Awakens!
On-chain monitoring data reveals unusual activity: Lookonchain has discovered an early Ethereum participant who has been dormant for two years suddenly selling 501 ETH just an hour ago, cashing out approximately $1.29 million at current prices!
This "hibernating" whale still holds 8052 ETH (about $20.43 million) in their wallet. It’s worth noting that similar "sleeping account awakenings" have occurred multiple times this year: in April, a whale sold 10,702 ETH for $16.86 million, and earlier, an ICO participant transferred tokens worth $3.2 million.
Interestingly, just recently, Ethereum founder Jeffrey Wilcke transferred 105,000 ETH (approximately $262 million) to an exchange, raising concerns in the market about the "founder liquidation." The Ethereum Foundation has also sold ETH several times over the years, cashing out nearly $90 million in total. When early holders take action consecutively, the market inevitably becomes tense—after all, in the crypto world, every transfer by big players can stir up significant waves.
