Vietnam Joins BRICS as 10th Partner, Advancing Inclusive Global Vision

BRICS has welcomed Vietnam as its 10th partner country, reinforcing the group’s commitment to a more inclusive global order. The announcement, made by Brazil—current chair of the bloc—on June 13, highlights BRICS’ ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with like-minded nations across the Global South. The partner-country initiative, launched at the 16th BRICS summit in Kazan in October 2024, aims to foster deeper collaboration with countries that align with the bloc’s goals without granting them full membership. As a platform for political and diplomatic engagement, BRICS addresses a broad range of issues, including economic development and reform of global governance structures.
