#VietnamCryptoPolicy On June 14, 2025, the National Assembly of Vietnam approved the Digital Technology Industry Law, which officially legalizes crypto assets. This legislation, which will come into effect on January 1, 2026, establishes a clear regulatory framework.

The new law classifies digital assets into two categories: "virtual assets" and "crypto assets." While it excludes securities and digital fiat currencies, the regulation seeks to provide clarity and promote innovation in the sector. Vietnam, which has been on the FATF gray list, also aims to improve its compliance with international anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing standards. This step positions Vietnam as a key player in the crypto regulation landscape in Southeast Asia, opening new opportunities for businesses and users.
