The founder of Cardano confirmed that he is working on a complete $XRP

complete for the Cardano ecosystem, which includes the Glacier Airdrop, XRP DeFi, and RLUSD integration.

Charles Hoskinson confirmed that his team is working on a complete package focused on the $XRP ecosystem. This plan includes support for the upcoming Glacier Airdrop, potential DeFi tools utilizing XRP technology, and discussions about bringing the RLUSD stablecoin from Ripple to the Cardano network.

Hoskinson shared the update during a conversation on X after a community member requested an update on the RLUSD integration on Cardano. In response, he stated that the work goes beyond RLUSD and involves a broader effort to communicate more closely with the XRP community.

Glacier airdrop and support $XRP on Lace

The Glacier airdrop, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025, is a key part of this plan. It was previously expected that the airdrop would distribute Midnight tokens, used in the privacy-focused Cardano sidechain, to retail users across multiple blockchains, including XRP holders.

Hoskinson confirmed that the goal is to reward regular users, not large investors or venture capital firms. Notably, he described this as part of a "collaborative economy" model that prioritizes the broader community.

Nearly 37 million wallets will participate in the airdrop, including XRP holders. It is part of #Cardano 's effort to achieve greater inclusivity and cross-chain collaboration, and it also represents a significant step towards bridging the long-standing divide between Hosk,,inson and the XRP community.

Meanwhile, the complete XRP package also includes XRP support in Lace. Specifically, Cardano's Lace wallet is working on integrating XRP support after introducing Bitcoin support with Lace 1.22 in April.

The upgrade will allow users to manage XRP alongside ADA and other assets. Notably, it is a significant step towards Cardano's goal of becoming a multi-chain platform and transforming Lace into a more complete tool for managing assets across different networks.

XRP DeFi on Cardano and RLUSD integration

The third part of this package includes the integration of XRP DeFi into Cardano. Hoskinson confirmed that his team is exploring ways to bring XRP into Cardano's DeFi space.

Specifically, these early efforts focus on building cross-chain liquidity pools and decentralized exchange platforms that leverage XRP's speed and low fees. However, these ideas are still under development at the time of publication. Recently, Hoskinson confirmed that Midnight could function as a DeFi layer on XRP, offering better yields.

Additionally, as part of the fourth aspect of this complete XRP package, discussions are also taking place between Cardano and Ripple about bringing RLUSD, a Ripple stablecoin backed by the US dollar, to the Cardano network.

Hoskinson confirmed these early discussions and stated that both sides see value in the idea. Although no definitive decisions or timelines have been established, this move could benefit both platforms by increasing the user base of RLUSD and enhancing activity within the Cardano DeFi ecosystem.

Overall, the relationship between Cardano and the XRP ecosystem seems to be evolving into a true partnership. While the idea remains just a concept at the time of publication, Hoskinson has confirmed that work is ongoing.
