Vietnam legislates digital assets under new Digital Technology Law.
On June 14, 2025, the National Assembly of Vietnam approved the Digital Technology Industry Law, which will come into effect on January 1, 2026.
With this regulation, the country officially recognizes 'digital assets', divided into virtual assets and crypto assets, defined by the use of digital encryption.
The law incorporates international AML/KYC standards and requires cybersecurity measures in line with FATF recommendations.
Additionally, it introduces tax incentives, subsidies, and state support for blockchain projects and digital startups.
With this step, Vietnam positions itself as a regional leader in crypto adoption by providing legal clarity and attracting international investment.
