#VietnamCryptoPolicy $BTC
Vietnam is marking a milestone in crypto regulation. Starting from January 1, 2026, a new law will recognize cryptocurrencies, requiring cybersecurity and anti-money laundering measures. This makes Vietnam the first country with a specific law for the digital technology industry.
Key Points of the New Policy:
* Legal Recognition: Cryptocurrencies will be legalized under the Digital Technology Industry Law.
* Not Prohibited, Now Defined: Although they were not prohibited, the new law will define them and establish a clear legal framework, without being legal tender.
* Regulatory Approach: Since 2017, Vietnam has been actively working on this framework.
* Testing Mechanism (Sandbox): The Ministry of Finance (MOF) is developing a testing environment to assess AML/KYC protocols and experiment with crypto asset trading platforms, seeking security and transparency.
Vietnam's stance is progressive and could serve as a model for other nations.
