The Vietnamese parliament adopted an important law on June 14, 2025, titled "Law on Digital Technology Industry," which for the first time defines and distinguishes between "virtual assets" and "encrypted assets," with a planned entry into force on January 1, 2026. This initiative follows the instruction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in March 2025, requesting the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank to expedite the development of the legal framework for digital assets.
