Did you build the Internet? How to become the master of WebFi

Every day we scroll through our phones, post on social media, and store photos, and these actions allow us to own a piece of the Internet. I first learned about the concept of WebFi through the @ICN_Protocol project, which has not yet had its TGE, and its tokens will soon be on sale. I have listed it as one of the key projects to watch this month.

1. First, starting from the concept, WebFi

A new species that merges Web2 and Web3. The traction in the real world comes from the interconnection of nodes from all over the world. You can think of it as you being the network; every time you post an X or check in, you are building a global people’s network on the Internet.

2. How capable is the project?

Looking at the Q1 2025 data alone, ICN's annual revenue exceeds 5 million dollars. Over 1,000 enterprises use it to store data, with 100 million files uploaded daily. The ecosystem basically covers Europe and the United States. What they are doing can be described as a large-scale business, and they are making real profits.

Secondly, I looked at their team background, which is mostly composed of Web3 veterans, coming from established projects like Goodgame Studios (which earns 1 billion dollars a year) + ApeCoin, Protocol Labs, etc. It’s not hard to observe their Twitter dynamics and find that they are long-term partners with mature DePIN projects like Aethir and IoTeX, which adds points based on trust.

The project's latest valuation is 470 million, following several rounds of funding. They raised 3.3 million dollars in the Pre-seed stage; 7.7 million dollars in the seed round led by VCs like 1kx, HV Capital, and Protocol Labs. It’s worth noting that HV Capital is a pillar of European VCs, with achievements like Zalando and Delivery Hero being textbook-level; although HV doesn't invest in many Web3 projects, its investment in ICN will definitely bring traditional technology and European market resources to this project; they raised 7 million dollars in the seed extension round led by LBBW VC; then they sold 28,000 nodes, raising 13 million dollars, bringing the total to 31 million dollars. Speaking of their node sales, it was quite successful, reflecting the hardcore community foundation to a certain extent, which can be said to lay the groundwork for the upcoming ICNT token sale, mainnet launch, staking mechanism, and enterprise landing.

3. Mainnet launch + exchange buff

The ICNT token sale they are organizing is different from the node sales; node sales are suitable for those with technical or financial capacity to run nodes directly, while token sales allow anyone to hold network shares by purchasing $ICNT. Each HyperNode = 2,500 ICNT, and token holders are eligible for node revenue dividends.

The total supply of $ICNT is 700 million tokens, with the latest investment token valuation around 470 million. June is the month to watch for this project, as the ICN mainnet will launch in June, followed by the sale of $ICNT tokens. The token presale time is to be announced; everyone can ring the small bell on their official Twitter to avoid missing news. The Chinese official Twitter is: @ICN_China

After learning about this project, I can't help but echo a slogan: 'The future of the Internet does not belong to large companies; it belongs to you and me.'
