Having been in the crypto world for a long time, it's not about how great your technology is, but whether you've stepped into those pits and whether you can survive.
Many people didn't miss the bull market, but they fell due to the most basic mistakes.
To be honest, I increasingly feel that:
The dumbest way to trade crypto is often the most reliable.
But it’s slow, it’s boring, and most people can't stick with it.
Many people around me have stumbled on these three "old habits":
1️⃣ Chasing highs and cutting losses: As soon as prices rise, they rush in, thinking it will soar higher, only to buy at the peak. When it drops, they panic and sell at the bottom. The ones who really make money are those who can quietly buy during off-peak times and sell quietly when the hype comes.
2️⃣ Heavy betting on direction: The direction is right, but when volatility hits, they cut losses and get washed out. It’s not that they judged incorrectly; they just couldn’t hold on.
3️⃣ Emotional all-in: Seeing an opportunity, they go all-in, and later they can’t adjust at all. Even if the direction is correct, they have no funds to average down or adjust their positions, leaving them helpless.
In the end, in this market,
It's not the market that destroys you, but your habits.
I’ve also summarized a short-term “six-character formula,” learned from stepping into pitfalls—
Don’t chase sideways, don’t pursue the range: If high prices are consolidating, there’s still room to go up; if low prices are oscillating, they’re likely to break lower.
Don’t jump in during oscillation: When the market is quiet, it’s the easiest time to wear people down.
Buy on red candles, sell on green candles: Following emotions is better than guessing blindly.
Don’t catch slow declines, but you can touch sharp drops: If the rhythm is off, the opportunity has changed.
Pyramid building: Going all-in is just emotion; truly stable positions are built slowly.
After large fluctuations, there must be oscillation, and only after oscillation is there opportunity. Don’t place bets during peaks or panic; wait for signals to emerge.
This market has never lacked opportunities,
What it lacks are: people who can wait, endure, and understand.
