Metaplanet just hit a major milestone, reaching 10,000 Bitcoin holdings after purchasing 1,112 BTC for approximately $117.2 million. This acquisition brings their total investment to around $947 million, with an average acquisition cost of $94,697 per Bitcoin. As a result, Metaplanet has surpassed Coinbase Global's 9,267 BTC holdings, positioning itself as the 7th-biggest corporate holder of Bitcoin. The company's stock surged over 22% following the announcement, and its year-to-date gain stands at 266.1%. Metaplanet aims to hold 210,000 BTC by 2027, valued at around 1% of Bitcoin's total supply ¹ ².
