🌍 Nvidia presented cBottle — a digital twin of Earth

Nvidia announced cBottle — a generative AI model that creates a 'digital twin' of Earth with a resolution down to a kilometer. This development marks a new stage in the application of artificial intelligence for climate research.

The model allows for real-time climate scenario modeling, taking into account parameters such as ocean temperature, time of day, and season. Training was conducted on historical data from the past 50 years.

cBottle was tested as part of the international Global KM-Scale Hackathon with researchers from eight countries. Project partners included the Max Planck Institute and the Allen Institute for AI.
