Vietnamese police dismantled a fake cryptocurrency mining platform
In February 2025, Vietnamese police arrested four individuals behind the fraudulent cryptocurrency mining platform BitMiner, which posed as an operation in Dubai. The scam deceived over 200 victims out of more than 4 billion Vietnamese dong ($157,300) by selling fake mining packages and educational materials.
In another major incident in December 2024, the Hanoi city police department (Vietnam) prevented investment from approximately 300 potential victims in a meticulously planned crypto scam, which had already defrauded around 100 companies and 400 individuals out of 30 billion Vietnamese dong ($1.17 million). 🚨#VietnamCryptoPolicy
