Recently, Metaplanet announced a significant purchase of 1,112 BTC, bringing its total holdings to an impressive 10,000 BTC. This move propelled Metaplanet past Coinbase Global in terms of Bitcoin held, making it a leading corporate holder. To finance these acquisitions, the company has been utilizing various financial instruments, including the issuance of zero-interest bonds. Metaplanet has also set ambitious long-term goals, aiming to hold 210,000 BTC by the end of 2027, representing approximately 1% of Bitcoin's total supply. This aggressive strategy has seen Metaplanet's stock surge, reflecting strong market confidence in its Bitcoin-centric approach.
