Metaplanet Issues US$210 Million Bond to Increase Bitcoin

Metaplanet Inc has issued its 18th series of bonds worth US$210 million on Monday (16/06). The proceeds from this issuance will be fully allocated to increase the company's Bitcoin (BTC) holdings.

This bond will not pay interest to its holders and will be redeemed in full at face value at the end of this year.

However, the bondholders, namely EVO FUND, can request early redemption with a minimum of five business days' notice.

“This bond is not secured and does not use collateral,” explained Metaplanet in its official statement.

On the other hand, Metaplanet's management stated that this corporate action is expected to have no significant impact on the financial statements. However, the company is ready to provide updates if a material impact on its financial performance arises.
