Metaplanet Issues US$210 Million Bond to Increase Bitcoin Holdings

Metaplanet Inc has issued its 18th series of bonds worth US$210 million on Monday (16/06). The funds from this issuance will be fully allocated to increase the company's Bitcoin (BTC) holdings.

This bond will not provide interest to its holders and will be redeemed in full for its principal amount at the end of this year.

However, the bondholders, namely EVO FUND, can request early redemption with a minimum notice of five business days.

“This bond is not secured and does not use collateral,” explained Metaplanet in its official statement.

On the other hand, Metaplanet management stated that this corporate action is not expected to have a significant impact on its financial reports. However, the company is ready to provide updates if there are material impacts on its financial performance.
